Moving On

Written by:

Well-meaning people encourage the bereaved to “keep going.”

“You must find a way to move on,” they say.

“It’s time to move forward,” they urge.

“Life must go on,” they remind.

But the grieving… we will never “move on,” “move forward,” or “go on.”

We remain stuck.

Emotionally frozen.

Everyday without them is just time.

Time that must be endured until we can have them again.

We, the grief tortured, we don’t move on.

It’s the world around us that keeps going.

We just learn to adapt to a world moving rapidly around us.

The last day we actually lived is the last day we had them.
